If you want to run, you can. No matter if this is a hobby or a healthier lifestyle change you can do it with the right amount of determination. Here are some helpful tips to guide you and inspire you along the way.
Love what you do
Give yourself permission to love to run. If you are just beginning your journey know that it will take time to develop healthy habits. Take it one day at a time, get good shoes, read up on running, watch running dvd's and get inspired by runners on youtube!
Get on pace.
Start slow and steady. Get apps on your smartphone to learn how to run. I personally use a heart rate monitor to keep my heart rate under control. Some of the monitors have training plans which can help you see improvements over time.
Train on a regular schedule
To get motivated to train, find someone to join in the journey with you. This could be at your local gym or a neighbor. If pairing up isn't your desire then mix up your running on tracks, outdoors and on a treadmill. If you do not have a gym membership then search for a good treadmill at home. The treadmill will help you with interval training.
Get good shoes!
Don't forget to get the best shoes for your feet. You can go into an athletic shoe store and they will tell you the right shoes to get for your feet.
You can fall in love with running if you are determined to run and if you equipment yourself with the right tools like a good pair of running shoes. Give it a go and don't stop until you have truly fallen in love with running!
