Wearing Spring Florals without Looking like Cher from Clueless

I'm sure everyone old enough to remember the 1990s is as surprised as I am that floral prints are back in fashion in a big way - including the classic  miniature teenybopper florals. If you're excited about this returning trend but don't want to look like you just stepped out of a time machine, read on!

Floral Kimonos

Try an on-trend floral kimono over a basic black or white tank top. Pair the look with jeans or shorts for a casual, breezy look. Since the kimono is open in the front, the print won't overwhelm, and you'll stay cool in the summer heat.

Neon Florals

Neon is another hot trend, and when you combine neon and floral, you're sure to look au courant! Try this  neon pink floral sundress from J. Crew! The white background makes it demure, and the hot pink flower print will make your summer tan pop.

Floral Shell with Black Ankle Pants

A tailored floral shell paired with black ankle pants can take you from the office to a night out with a simple switch of accessories. This peplum version from Anthropologie is equal parts fun and professional.

Bold Floral Pant

A daring choice, a floral pant in a modern cut is the perfect way to freshen up your warm-weather wardrobe. Ann Taylor has some great, classy options like this one. Wear with a black or neutral shoe to keep the look tame.

Give one or all of these floral pieces a try. You'll look  perfectly modern, and if you happened to live through this trend the first time, no one will be the wiser!

Tropical Print Shoes

Another low-risk way to wear the floral trend is with a bright, tropical print shoe like these peep-toe wedges from Aldo. The uppers of printed shoes are usually in comfy canvas or satin, and because tropical prints incorporate lots of colors, they can go with just about everything!
